Descaling of Railway Wheels

HAINZL supplied a descaling system for the production of railroad wheels. The scope of delivery includes a descaling cabin with movable descaling beams, high-pressure water hydraulics and automation. HAINZL also carried out the assembly and commissioning on site.

Technical data:

• Block sizes to be descaled: (old 157) Ø 500 x H up to 1000 mm
• Drive power of high-pressure pumps: 2x 200 kW with frequency converter
• Standby pump also 200 kW
• Max. Delivery rate: 2x 310l/min
• Descaling pressure: adjustable up to 360 bar
• Positioning of descaling nozzles: hydraulic, +/- 1mm
• Processing time for one block approx. 20 seconds
• Water supply via intermediate tank (3 m³), filter station (50 μm) and centrifugal pumps to supply the HP pumps
